Perfect for groups with mixed dietary needs, Kappo Sora offers an inclusive and “body-friendly” gustatory tour of the world with full support for all manner of dining restrictions – including egg-free, dairy-free, gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options.

Kappo Sora is the perfect spot if you’re hungry for a cozy French-style fine course dining experience with a top notch globally-inspired menu in a relatively quiet neighborhood not far from the endless activity of the Shinsaibashi station area.
As the independent passion project of acclaimed regional hotel chef Hideo Sorano, Kappo Sora gave me a feeling not unlike attending an intimate secret bar show by an arena-level musical act.
From the cozy dining room and kitchen (where the chef prepared everything right before your eyes) to the creative menu and highly personalized support for a wide variety of dietary needs and preferences, everything about the restaurant speaks to the vision of an accomplished artist who has taken a step back from highly commercial endeavors to really connect with his craft and his patrons.
Chef Sorano also places a high emphasis on heartiness and healthiness in his meals, which can be a rare combination in the world of delicious fine dining. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, halal, and kosher options are all available on request, but even the usual meat and fish options are loaded with seasonal, locally-sourced veggies. The health-conscious are just as unlikely to leave feeling guilty as big eaters are to leave feeling hungry – which I can attest to, being both. Those who like a tipple with their meal are also sure to appreciate the chef’s wine pairing recommendations.
As Kappo Sora is popular, its dining room small, and its service highly personalized and intimate, guests are advised to make reservations in advance to avoid disappointment.
