Brasserie La Loge à Cookpark is the third buffet and second hotel restaurant on our Best Osaka Restaurants for Families with Young Children and Babies list, though it hits a decidedly different sweet spot than any of the others. Centrally located within walking distance from JR Osaka station, this is a spot that’s as quick and easy for families as it is budget-friendly. The buffet is open to all, not just hotel guests.

The Space
As a hotel buffet restaurant, Cookpark has a familiar standard layout with all the things a family with children could need, including high chairs, booth seating, sofa seating, child cutlery, and bathrooms with diaper changing stations close by.

The Service and Amenities
There are no big surprises at Cookpark, which is exactly its strength. The buffet offers a solid lineup of familiar options, the amenities cover all your needs as a parent dining with a little one (booths, sofas, high chairs, child cutlery, nearby bathrooms with diaper changing support), and it’s extremely budget-friendly.
The buffet also has no fixed time limit, which is unusually generous for buffets in Japan open to the general public. Diners can stay as long as they like within the open times for meals (7:00am-10:00am for breakfast, 11:30am-2:00pm for lunch), which is helpful if you or your children are slow eaters or prefer a little time to lounge after your meal.

The Food
Cookpark’s food is decidedly standard for a budget hotel buffet. Here, too, you are unlikely to run into any surprises. It hits all the bases, and breakfast includes a full drink bar (including espresso drinks and fruit juice) for no additional cost.

Cookpark is located on the first floor of the ibis Osaka Umeda Hotel. Though not required, reservations are available even for those not staying at the hotel, and recommended on busier days to ensure seats are available.
